Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort is located in Little Cottonwood Canyon in the Wasatch Range of the Rocky Mountains. A mere 29 miles from Salt Lake City, it is a popular area for local and out-of-town skiers alike. Snowbird is notable for its spectacular snowfall; in fact, the resort averages more than 500 inches of snow a year. Snowbird’s 2,500 skiable acres are accessed by 11 lifts. Famous for its gnarly steeps, Snowbird does have terrain for beginners and intermediates.

The top of the resort is 11,000-foot Hidden Peak, the lowest point on the mountain is at the bottom of Baby Thunder chairlift at 7,760 feet. The 125-person Tram covers 2,900 vertical feet in approximately 7 minutes.
