Pleasant Mountain

Pleasant Mountain, formerly known as Shawnee Peak, is Maine’s oldest major ski area, offering a variety of activities throughout the year.

Winter activities include alpine skiing and snowboarding with the resort featuring 44 trails and glades, serviced by six lifts, catering to all skill levels. Night skiing is also available boasting the most night skiing terrain in New England, Pleasant Mountain operates night skiing from 3:30 PM to close, six nights a week (Monday through Saturday). The resort supports uphill travel with alpine touring setups, allowing guests to skin up designated routes. A variety of lessons are available for different age groups and skill levels.

While Pleasant Mountain is primarily known for its winter offerings, the surrounding area provides opportunities for hiking, particularly on the mountain’s various trails, which offer stunning views of the Lakes Region and the White Mountains.
